VISUAL ART: Artwork has been featured in solo shows at The Grove and The Tiny Gallery at Creative Arts Workshop in New Haven, and has appeared in group shows at The Ely Center of Contemporary Art (ECOCA) in New Haven, "Side by Side" at Whitney Center in Hamden, "Women's Work" at Eastern Connecticut State University, and "Complicit: An Erasure of the Body" at the Yale Divinity School. Mindi has worked for and participated in New Haven's Citywide Open Studios and served on the curatorial team at ECOCA for the "Our Bodies, Ourselves" show. Her book art is included in the Haas Family Arts Library collection at Yale.
EDUCATION/TRAINING: Mindi holds a B.F.A. from Hartford Art School, an M.A.L.S. from Wesleyan University, and a teaching certification from Yale University. She is trained in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), Restorative Justice, and Trauma-Informed practices. Additionally, she is a Narrative 4 Certified Facilitator and a Kripalu-certified yoga teacher.

TEACHING: Adjunct Professor of English at Gateway Community College in New Haven, CT, a Yale tutor, and a Creative Writing instructor for Beijing 101 in China. She has taught programs for teens at Eli Whitney Museum and The Greater New Haven Arts Council. Previously, she was a Creative Writing teacher at Cooperative Arts & Humanities Magnet High School in New Haven for 21 years. Mindi has also led workshops for both adults and teens at colleges, community centers, and other venues.

Mind is the Founder and CEO of Word Buddy, where she helps clients craft and refine college essays, résumés, marketing materials, websites, dissertations, correspondence, creative projects, and more. WRITING: Founding editor of Etcetera literary magazine and the author of twelve books of nonfiction for children, as well as numerous poems, stories, essays, and academic publications. She was awarded a Vermont Studio Center Fellowship, is a SURDNA Grant recipient, and serves as a Teacher-Consultant for the Connecticut Writing Project. In addition, Mindi was a contributing writer for Our Red Book, The Feminist Utopia Project, and a co-writer for “The Lucretia Society,” a play that addresses sexual violence against women.
